Suspected Tiv Militias Set Catholic Rev Father ablaze in Taraba

Suspected Tiv militias have set ablaze a Catholic priest in Taraba state along Takum road.

Reverend Father David Tanko was killed on route to Takum for a mediation meeting meant to resolve a crisis between Tiv, Jukun in the state, community sources say.

Mr. Shiban Tikari, the council chairman who confirmed the killing said the suspects set the priest car ablaze after killing him.

He accused Tiv militias of killing the priest.

The killing happened within 24 hours armed men invaded Kufai Amadu community in Takum local government area of the state, killing two persons and a Rev. Father.

This is even as a student of the Evangelical Church of West Africa (ECWA) was killed in the farm at Donga Local Government Area of Taraba state on Wednesday.
