The Fulani apex socio-cultural organization, Miyetti Allah has said its members have every right to live in any part of Nigeria and will defend themselves if the need arises.
Mr. Saleh Alhassan, the national secretary of the group in an interview with Punch newspaper on Saturday, says herdsmen have their fundamental rights and can move and live in any part of Nigeria that pleases them.
He has since disclosed that they will hold Ibo governor responsible should anything happen to any Fulani herdsman.
Anybody that thinks he can wake up and take on the Fulani pastoralist is making a grievous mistake; we are well prepared to defend our fundamental human rights of movement in this country,” Alhassan said.
The national secretary of the group says herdsmen are Nigerians and can live any place of their choice and ensure they defend themselves against ethnic militia and assert their citizenship in this country.
The group said their members are not responsible for killings that are happening in Nigeria and has challenged the government to fish out those carrying out the killings in the name of Fulani herdsmen and prosecute them.
It has since challenged the government to deal with anybody who wants to cause a crisis in Nigeria.
