Mr. Ayo Adebanjo, a Yoruba elder statesman has said the Yoruba nation thought that Mr. Muhammadu Buhari, the Nigerian president is a sincere man and supported him in becoming the president, but they did not know he was deceiving them.
The elder statesman who appeared on the Arise TV “Morning Show” on Wednesday, while commenting on Nigeria’s Independence celebration, said the country ought to be mourning and not celebrating.
The elder statesman, who insisted the only way to go is restructuring, said the Yoruba nation supported Buhari believing he will allow for restructuring and give dividends of democracy and good governance to Nigerians.
He, however, said when the pressure became too much on the Buhari administration, they set up a committee chaired by Mr. Nasir El-rufai the Kaduna state governor to work on restructuring.
He pointed out that since the committee said it has finished its work, it has since refused to submit a report and no action was taken by the government that shows Buhari and All Progressives Congress (APC) are interested restructuring and a better Nigeria.
The elder statesman said that was a deliberate attempt to deceive Nigerians and the southwest zone of the country.
He berated Buhari and described him as a total failure who wants to give out the Nigerian state to the Fulani nation, pointing out that Mr. Bola Tinubu, former Lagos state governor and a chieftain of APC foolishly supported Buhari.
