We will sacrifice 21 million members for El-Zakzaky – Shiites

The Islamic Movement of Nigeria (IMN) shiites have declared that it is set to sacrifice 21 million of its members for its leader Ibrahim  El-Zakzaky to be freed.

The members made the vow in Lagos on Thursday when it staged a protest demanding that the federal government releases him from detention.

Their leader has been in detention since the last four years after they clashed with Mr. Brutai, the chief of army staff in Zaria, Kaduna state.

South-West Coordinator speaking to journalists during the protest asked Mr. Bola Tinubu, a prominent member of the All Progress Congress (APC), a party that produced Mr. Muhammadu Buhari, the Nigeria to prevail on Buhari to release it’s leader. 

“We are ready to die if our leader is not released. If they are ready to kill us, we have 21 million lives to offer. I know that Nigerian soldiers do not have 21 million bullets to shoot at us. 

It’s true that there are 21 million Shi’ites in Nigeria, and if they kill our leader, which country will they have to rule by 2023. Buhari got to the office because the National Leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, assisted him. It was Tinubu that started the movement and spent his money to ensure that the party assumes power. We’re calling on Tinubu, to talk to the President, who is a member of his party to free our leader. If he allows the President to continue to kill our members, there will not be Nigeria in 2023. We’re not happy over the continued detention of our leader.” he sai


Members of the group had  on Thursday clashed with security operatives, causing tension around Abuja, the Nigeria capital city.

They stormed National Assembly to protest the release of their leader.

Four police men were shot in a protest that turned violence.

One of the policemen was rushed to the Assembly clinic in a pool of blood.

The four policemen that were shot are attached to the National Assembly.

The group has staged different protests in Abuja and Kaduna demanding release of their leader, Mr. El Zaky Zaky who has been in detention for over the years.

Witness say the group into the Assembly complex one after the other until they formed a large group of protesters.

They at first surmounted policemen at the first gate, but were stopped by four policemen at the second gate.

An action that got the group angry making them to shoot at the policemen.

Cars were also smashed by the group.

A windscreen of a Police pick up van were also smashed.

The damaged police vehicle and destroyed windows at the Assembly complex.

Some visitors at the Assembly complex had their cars smashed by the group.

A team of policemen have been drafted to the complex for law and order.

While the protesters this newspaper learned the protesters have disappeared from the Assembly complex.
